SS Nomadic
Jan. 21st, 2006 10:59 pmThe SS Nomadic, launched in 1911, is one of the tenders that was built specifically for use with the Olympic class ships and her design reflected that. Despite her age she is in very good condition with most of her original fittings, woodwork, plaster work still in place. However on the 26th she will be auctioned off and either bought or scrapped.
This is the last of the White Star Line ships, she has a direct link to one of the most famous ships in history, the Titanic. It was on board the Nomandic that the first class passengers where taken out to meet her at Cherbourg including Mrs Molly Brown, the Astors and the Duff-Gordons.
Time is now really running out for this beautiful piece of the past. Please help save this historic ship from the scrapyard, keep a link to the Titanic alive.
